Yes, we receive this question frequently, and we understand the concerns that travelers may have. Colombia is a beautiful country with friendly and hospitable people. As with any destination, it’s essential to take necessary precautions to ensure your safety.

Having lived in and traveled in and out of Colombia since 2019, I can attest that I have never encountered any safety issues. However, it’s always wise to be cautious and aware of your surroundings, especially when traveling at night or in unfamiliar areas. Avoid areas that give off a negative vibe and trust your instincts. If you’re unsure about a location, it’s best to ask the locals or staff members at Colombia Motorcycle Rental & Tour Co. for advice.

The recommendation for a motorcycle depends on your experience level and what you plan to do with it. For beginners or those with limited motorcycle riding experience. For experienced and advanced riders, the recommendation varies depending on the planned trip. For multi-day excursions and long trips outside of the city, the Honda XRE 190 or Hero XPULSE 200 Adventure or similar Adventure motorcycles are recommended. For day adventure trips, the Honda 150 XR is a popular model among local riders and can get you to most destinations safely. Ultimately, it is best to consult with us to determine which motorcycle would be best for your specific needs

All rentals from CMRT include a helmet, a travel phone holder, and a USB charger. Optional storage luggage is also available, even for city scooters. The vehicles are equipped with round-the-clock GPS tracking travel locational services, ensuring that we always know where you are. Additionally, the company has partnered with a service called Global Rescue, which uses US military and local military partnerships around the world to rescue you from any situation you may run into during your trip. All vehicles come equipped with SOAT, which is a mandatory local Colombian medical insurance. If you need gear, we can provide anything you need for an additional low cost. Simply ask, and we will be happy to assist with any additional needs.

The rental period varies depending on what you need and which motorcycle or scooter you plan to rent from us. There are special pricing options for extended rentals and tours, and we can also price match if you need us to, (especially if you are on a tight budget). It’s best to discuss your specific needs with our team to determine the rental period that would work best for you.
