Morning

Medellín: Early in the morning, the adventure begins in vibrant Medellín. We will meet at a designated point to check the equipment, get to know your motorcycle, and receive a brief orientation on the route, riding modes, and traffic rules. Make sure you have everything you need for the trip before departing.

Ride: We will cover approximately 195 km on winding roads with long off-road sections and impressive views of the Antioquian mountains as we descend into the fertile valleys of Antioquia. The route from Medellín to Sonsón is paved and has hundreds of curves, making it an excellent test ride to build confidence on your motorcycle. Then, from Sonsón to Aguadas, the route will be off-road, full of surprising landscapes and abundant vegetation. We will stop in Aguadas for lunch, where you can enjoy a delicious typical lunch with dishes such as "sancocho de gallina" or "bandeja paisa". During the ride, temperatures will vary between cool and warm, so it is advisable to wear comfortable and fresh clothing. Along the way, you can enjoy the natural beauty of the region, including mountainous landscapes and green valleys.

Salamina: An enchanting town nestled high in the mountains, declared a heritage site. Its cobblestone streets, colorful houses, and beautiful wooden balconies will captivate us. After checking into a charming boutique hotel, you can explore the colonial architecture of Salamina at your own pace, visit the main square, and enjoy the local cuisine. For dinner, Salamina offers a great variety of traditional gastronomic options.

Day 2 Itinerary: Salamina to Termales Espíritu Santo

Salamina: We start the day with a typical breakfast in Salamina. After breakfast, we will do a brief inspection of our motorcycles and meet at 8:00 am to begin the ride.

Ride: Today we will cover approximately 173 km, mostly off-road. We will traverse lush landscapes and pass through several towns, including Marulanda, a small and charming sheep-raising town, and Manzanares, where we will possibly have lunch with a typical Colombian "tamal" filled with meat, chicken, vegetables, and spices. Temperatures will vary, so it is advisable to wear comfortable and fresh clothing.

Termales Espíritu Santo: In Nariño, Antioquia, amidst paths full of lush nature and jungle landscapes, we will arrive at Termales del Espíritu Santo, a charming eco-lodge where we will spend the night. Here, you can enjoy the therapeutic benefits of the mineral-rich hot springs and the natural beauty and tranquility of a remote location. Soak in the hot springs and relax from the day's ride. We will enjoy a delicious typical dinner and a night of rest surrounded by nature.

Day 3 Itinerary: Termales Espíritu Santo to La Danta

Termales Espíritu Santo: We start the day with breakfast and a brief inspection of our motorcycles. We will meet at 8:00 am to begin our ride.

Ride: We will cover approximately 155 km, with 50% of the route being off-road. The climate will be warmer as we descend in altitude. We will pass through several towns, including Florencia, Norcasia, and San Miguel, where we will cross a river on a small artisanal ferry. We will stop for lunch in Norcasia, enjoying an "ajiaco" or a "bandeja paisa". Temperatures will be warm, so it is advisable to wear fresh clothing.

La Danta: A small town full of charming natural reserves. We will stay at an eco-hotel near La Danta. After settling in, you can explore the ecological accommodation and enjoy nature or walk around the small town. Later, enjoy a traditional dinner with grilled meat or fried fish, typical of the area.

Day 4 Itinerary: La Danta to Guatapé

La Danta: We start the day with a good typical breakfast, followed by a brief inspection of our motorcycles. We will meet at 8:00 am to begin our ride.

Ride: We will cover approximately 180 km, with 50% of the route being off-road. The climate will be warm, and we will pass through several towns, including Doradal, San Luis, San Carlos, and San Rafael. We will stop for lunch in San Carlos, where you can enjoy a delicious "sancocho de gallina". Temperatures will be warm, so it is advisable to wear fresh clothing.

Guatapé: Upon arrival in this famous town, we will stay at a charming boutique hotel. You can then explore this colorful town at your own pace, full of art on its facades. For dinner, we will have a delicious grilled trout, typical of this town.

Day 5 Itinerary: Guatapé to Medellín

Guatapé: After a good typical breakfast, you will have time to explore this charming town a bit more or venture up the 740 steps of the famous El Peñol rock. Its summit will reward you with an impressive surrounding view of charming landscapes and lakes. We will do a brief inspection of our motorcycles and meet at 12:00 pm to begin our final ride.

Ride: We will cover approximately 180 km on paved roads. The route will take us through several towns, including Marinilla and Rionegro. We will stop for lunch in Marinilla, where you can enjoy a typical Antioquian lunch with dishes such as "bandeja paisa" or "arepas rellenas". Temperatures will vary between warm and temperate, so it is advisable to wear comfortable and fresh clothing.

Every motorcycle adventure tour we offer starts and concludes in the lively and secure city of Medellin, Colombia, where you'll find a variety of hotels, restaurants, and attractions.

 

Preparation Before Departure 

Before you set off on your adventure, we’ll provide you with a briefing on the road regulations in Colombia, local traditions, and essential etiquette. You'll also receive training on how to operate a pre-programmed GPS device, along with a packet that includes hotel vouchers, daily maps, points of interest, local highlights, and hidden gems to customize your trip.

 

On Departure Day 

When your departure day arrives, you will be supplied with your adventure motorcycle, fully equipped with a waterproof luggage system, a first aid kit, spare inner tubes (or a tire repair kit), tools, and a prepaid mobile phone for assistance. We will conduct a comprehensive vehicle inspection to ensure everything is in working order, and you'll be informed about emergency procedures.

 

Experience the Adventure  

Our tours are crafted to navigate well-maintained roads with light traffic and include scheduled stops along the way. You’re encouraged to discover at your own pace, taking the chance to capture photos and engage with the welcoming locals in safe, off-the-beaten-path locations.

Lodging:

Our all-inclusive tours feature nightly accommodations with private or shared rooms. While most of our lodging options are private, there may be instances—particularly in remote areas or with larger groups—where shared rooms are necessary. However, shared room arrangements are typically optional, and if you are traveling with a passenger, we ensure comfortable accommodations suited to your preference.

 

Meals: 

Each tour includes a hearty breakfast every morning, with select snacks and beverages offered in certain locations. We intentionally do not include lunch or dinner in the tour package to allow for personal preferences in food quality and choice. At every stop, we’ll recommend local dining options based on your tastes, guiding you toward both familiar favorites and authentic Colombian dishes that enrich your travel experience. Colombia offers a variety of regional specialties, and part of the journey is indulging in these culinary delights as you explore different parts of the country.

 

Preparation and Packing 

We will supply you with comprehensive packing lists and preparation instructions. It’s advisable to have a basic understanding of motorcycle maintenance and repairs before your tour begins.

BOOKING AND CANCELLATION POLICY

Multi-Day Motorcycle Tours & Rentals

  • Full Refund: We do not allow full refunds on our tour purchases.
  • Tour Deposit (Cancellations): Due to the fact we pre-book hotel bookings we will not refunded your motorcycle deposit for tour cancellations. 
  • Rental Deposit (Cancellations): Due to our pre-booked motorcycles & tour schedules, our motorcycle deposits are only refundable after your rental period is completed without damages, purposes and a full tank of gas.
  • Trip Cancellation Insurance: 5% of the tour cost, payable at booking.
  • Insurance Coverage: Provides credit towards a future tour with us.

Reason for policy: Tours and accommodations are pre-booked sometimes months in advance, necessitating confirmed motorcycle availability for all our clients.

Covered Cancellation Scenarios

Credit given if cancellation is due to:

  • Cancellation with our Insurance Coverage policy
  • Extreme sickness, accidental injury, or death (documentation required).
  • Involvement in a traffic accident on the way to the tour or before
    (police report needed).
  • Adverse situations affecting the ability to join the tour
    (war, terrorism, natural disasters, strikes).

Additional Notes

Colombia Motorcycle Rental & Tour reserves the right to cancel your tour based on the legitimacy or illegitimacy of each rider’s experience level based on intake form. .

Each rider must come equipped with:

  • Valid motorcycle driver’s license.
  • Information on their experience levels.
  • Honest details about themselves, including where they are from and any other required information required during our booking process.
